Solidarity with the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and President Maduro against US intervention
The Organizing Committee of the United Kingdom Chapter of the Antifascist International repudiates the action of the US Government against the elected president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros, and expresses its solidarity with the people that are suffering 932 coercive economic measures against their country.
The increase of the bounty on President Maduro up to $50 million announced by the US Attorney General Pam Bondi for “anyone providing information leading to the arrest or conviction” of an elected president shows once again that the US government does not respect any government who prioritizes people’s needs, social fairness and self-determination. These prerogatives of an elected government are contrary to the aims of the United States.
The new fabricated excuses point to President Maduro as being the leader of a narco-terrorist organization. This claim has not been supported by feasible evidence, and it has all the hallmarks of propaganda due to it selectively omitting and distorting facts and being insistently disseminated through the media.
President Trump has also authorized the use of military force against drug cartels which acts as a cover-up for the ultimate intent of intervening in toppling Latin American governments that do not toe the line with the US.
Since the election of President Maduro on the 28th July 2024, the people of Venezuela have participated in seven elections at different levels, from members of the congress (Asamblea Nacional) to judges, regional governors and municipal authorities. In all of them, the people, has supported the government’s policies and the economic recovery of the country and have expressed their legitimate desire to live in peace and prosperity.
From the United Kingdom, as the Organizing Committee of the UK Chapter of the Antifascist International we demand that the US to stops all hostile policies against the country and at the same time we salute the brave people of Venezuela for their determination to live in an independent country and not in a colony.
