The British Chapter of the Antifascist International stands in firm solidarity with the Palestinian
people in their just struggle for liberation and national sovereignty against the genocidal Zionist
regime. We call for the immediate cessation of all forms of violence and crimes of aggression
against the Palestinian people, including the illegal occupation of their territories, arbitrary
detention, rape, torture, genocide, and the violation of their right to self-determination. We
advocate for the full and immediate international recognition of the state of Palestine and
respect for the sovereignty of Lebanon.
We express our complete rejection and condemnation of the creation of the so-called “Board
of Peace,” whose self-appointed chairman for life is Donald Trump. This “Board of Greed” is
nothing more than a hastily created platform for financial gain and colonial control. Keeping
Palestinians under surveillance and patrol whilst they construct the “Gaza Riviera”, building
condos on corpses. Hands Off Gaza! No to this fake Board of Peace!
If you stand in solidarity with Palestine you need to stand with Venezuela and Cuba
A new war is unfolding in the Caribbean. Since August the US has firebombed fishing boats in
the Caribbean and Pacific, killing over100 people with impunity. The excuse? Without a scrap of
evidence the US claims these were narco-terrorists. Then on 3 January 2026, The US bombed
Venezuela’s capital city, Caracas and kidnapped the democratically elected President, Nicolas
Maduro, and his wife Cilia Flores, a National Assembly deputy. Determined to control
Venezuela’s oil and crush its sovereignty, the US has hijacked 7 oil tankers trading with
Venezuela, imposing a naval blockade with the support of British armed forces. Now the US is
threatening Cuba to ‘make a deal before it’s too late’.
Don’t believe the media hype: Venezuela is not a dictatorship, it has held 32 elections since
1999, Maduro is not a dictator, he has won 3 Presidential elections since 2013, each time winning
over 6 million votes. If he was hated, why are there huge protests in Venezuela demanding his
return? Venezuela has an expanding system of participatory democracy through the communal
movement, and 8 million volunteers have joined the Bolivarian people’s militias to defend
against invasion. Meanwhile Cuba has been defying US threats, invasions and a blockade for 60
years – but still the people refuse to kneel before empire –this is about land and sovereignty
and the right to exist as an independent nation. Sound familiar? If we can see through the media
hypocrisy on Palestine, we can do the same for Venezuela and Cuba.
Different continent, same fight!
The progressive peoples of Venezuela and Cuba have long supported the Palestinian cause,
despite their own hardships and struggles. Venezuela severed ties with Israel in 2009 in
response to Operation Cast Lead, and signed cooperation agreements with Palestine instead.
Since 2023, in the face of crippling US sanctions, Venezuela has sent 84 tones of aid to Gaza.
Meanwhile Cuba has offered support to Palestine since the triumph of the Cuban revolution in
1959, when Che Guevara visited Gaza. Cuba grants citizenship to stranded Palestinian refugees
and gives Palestinian students scholarships to attend Cuban universities for free. Hundreds of
Palestinian medics have graduated as a result. Cuba broke all diplomatic ties with Israel in 1973
and has supported in the training of Palestinian liberation fighters. No wonder flags emblazoned
with Che Guevara’s face fly in Gaza or the illegal apartheid wall in the West bank is adorned with
murals to Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro whilst Palestinian doctors treating bomb victims in
Gaza’s crumbling hospitals describe their gratitude to Cuba and Venezuela.
The war machine targets Venezuela, Cuba, Gaza and beyond:
The same F35 fighter jets that Israel uses to bomb Palestine are used by the US in their war on
the Caribbean. Parts for F-35’s are made by British companies Rolls-Royce and BAE systems.
Britain is a key player in the genocide in Gaza and in the war on the Caribbean. The British state
has backed the Zionist project since its inception, likewise Britain has seized Venezuela’s gold,
complies with the US blockade of Cuba and aided the US in stealing Venezuelan oil tankers. This
is an attack on all who struggle to put people before profit, for socialism, for a better world.
